[edit] History
Details regarding the formation of Seattle Frontrunners are murky and occasionally conflicting. A 1984 article in Seattle Gay News announced Seattle's first Run With Pride and identified the Lesbian Resource Center as organizer. Shortly thereafter, an informal group that would later become Seattle Frontrunners began running together on Saturday mornings at Green Lake. By 1987, the year of the first Northwest Lesbian/Gay Sports Festival, Seattle Frontrunners was going strong and had formally taken over sponsorship of Run With Pride.
The 1990s saw a growth in membership and an increased focus on serving recreational runners. The club now has a small but strong group of fitness walkers.
