Sean Wilson (born 4 April 1965, Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire) is an English actor, best known for his role as Martin Platt in Coronation Street.
He joined the cast of Coronation Street in 1985 at the third attempt, having been previously turned down for the roles of Terry Duckworth and Kevin Webster. Sean was axed from the soap in late 2005 after refusing to play a controversial (under-age sex) storyline planned for his character, which he felt could demonise him and cause distress to his real-life family.
Since leaving Coronation Street, Sean has played minor roles in several UK television dramas, the most recent being in January 2008, when he appeared in Waterloo Road.
