Sean O'Leary (musician)

Sean O'Leary (born 1953 in Liverpool, England) is a singer-songwriter, musician and writer.

Though his professional life consists almost completely of music, O'Leary frequently writes on philosophy and theology. Additionally, he has created a large body of digital artwork. His most recent work has been adapting the poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins.

The Alchemist (ISBN 0-9550649-0-2), his most recent album (2005), features twenty three of Hopkins' poems. O'Leary has recorded many more of the poet's work setting the poems to music in a variety of contemporary styles. He recently performed a number of these adaptations in Ireland at a GMH festival.

Recent albums include Songs of Experience (2001) the lyrics of which were written collaboratively with Martin Beek.
