[edit] Career

He started his career playing in the youth teams at Hearts. In 2003 he moved across the Forth to play for SPL rivals Dunfermline Athletic.

He then moved on loan for the 2005-06 season to Forfar Athletic in order to get some first team experience and moved on loan there again for the first half of the following season. In the second half of the 2006-07 season, he moved on loan to First Division team Hamilton Academical.

Following Dorus de Vries' move South to Swansea City in the summer of 2007, Dunfermline were left with only two senior Goalkeepers. In the UEFA Cup game against Swedish team BK Häcken, main keeper Roddy McKenzie was injured in the first half and Murdoch was brought on to make his first senior appearance for the club. Unfortunately, he made an error which caused Dunfermline to draw the match, but Manager Stephen Kenny said he would stick by Murdoch.[1]

On the 6th of May 2008, Murdoch signed for Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academical, whom he had been on loan at earlier in his career.[2] [3]
