Matthew Sean Montgomery is a fictional character from the daytime drama All My Children. He was portrayed by Brent Weber from August 11, 2006 to January 16, 2008.
[edit] Character history
Matthew Sean Montgomery is conceived in the hopes that he will be a viable bone marrow donor for his older sister, Molly. For a brief time, it is believed that his father could be Sean Cudahy, which is where his middle name (Sean) comes from. He lives with his parents and older sister in Seattle until his father's death, at which time it is just him, his mother, and his sister.
In August 2006, he returns to Pine Valley. Going by his middle named Sean. Erica Kane is unpleasantly surprised to come home one day and find out that a young man has turned her house into party central. She ends the party, and he introduces himself as her nephew Sean (he is now going by his middle name). His sister, Molly, is in Tokyo doing an internship, and his mother, Barbara Montgomery, has recently gone off to Europe with a new boyfriend. Erica isn't pleased to have him there and wants Jackson "Jack" Montgomery, his uncle, to get him to leave. Sean is more than willing to go, telling Jack he has his own car and all his own credit cards, but Jack realizes that Sean might be a good one to keep an eye on Lily Montgomery. Jonathan Lavery also clues in and asks him to watch Lily for him. Sean soon gets himself tangled up with Colby Chandler and her new nemesis Sydney Harris, and is the guest of honor at the two's dual Sweet 16 party. At the party, he helps Lily escape to meet a boy she has met online, then he, Colby, and a few other guests take the party on board the Montgomery yacht. Although the harbor master eventually shows up and tells them to put a stop to the party, it is after Sean and Colby have sex in the wheelhouse.
In April 2007, Lily's look-alike older half sister, Ava Benton is in town. Lily convinces Jack to let her move in. There is an instant attraction between Sean and Ava and the two have a lusty romp in the shower. Soon after, Jack and Erica return to Jack's house while taping their reality show, Divorce Watch, and catch Sean and Ava on the couch about to have sex again. The cameras are rolling and catch everything on tape.
While lying to Colby about his involvement with Ava, Sean spends the night in Colby's room and almost gets caught by Adam Chandler. Adam is up to his usual schemes and pays Ava to break up Colby and Sean. Sean takes Colby to the Junior Prom and Ava plants a bag of unidentified pills in Sean's jacket pocket. A narcotics officer shows up on a "anonymous" tip and searches Sean. By this time Colby is wearing the jacket to keep warm.
Sean is arrested for possession and is later convicted. Jackson manages to get him a plea bargain which involes community service (ie, trash detail). Ava admits to Colby that Adam paid her to set Sean up. Jackson learns Ava was behind the drug charges and orders her to move out.
