[edit] Season One

[edit] Clay's New Friend

Sean is first seen as being kind of hostile towards Clay Carlin, a new resident of Los Angeles. But after they get to know each other, they quickly become best friends. Sean likes Clay because "he's his own man" and isn't persuaded by people to change himself.

[edit] "Driving While Black"

When Sean offers Clay a ride home after his first day of school, Clay agrees. On the way there though, they are stopped by police officers because they look "suspicious". Sean says that they were stopped because they were "driving while black", and the police officer kicks him. Clay watches, shocked by what's happening.

[edit] Glen vs. Sean

When Sean and Clay start hanging out more, Glen disapproves, because he thinks that Sean is a bad influence on Clay. Clay is torn between his brother and his best friend. Sean sees this as blowing him off, and starts to leave Clay alone. Clay goes to Sean's house party to make amends, and after a tough game of chess between them, Sean accepts Clay's apology. Glen, however, continues to dislike Sean for a long time. During a school lockdown (there was a weapon threat), Glen looks at Sean and says that the whole school is "full of psychos just waiting to go 'gangsta'". After a while though, everybody (Glen, Aiden, Madison, Clay, and Sean) start talking about their friendships and how others don't have to understand them, as long as they're friends. Glen slowly begins to accept Sean at this point.

[edit] Carjacked

After going to the movies, Sean and Clay leave for home. After a while, Sean says that he doesn't recognize the surroundings. Seconds later, the two are held by gunpoint and forced out of the car by two carjackers. Sean and Clay are forced to lay on the ground and are told not to move, or the carjackers will kill them. The carjackers get away, and Sean and Clay are forced to walk home in their socks after being robbed. Their things are recovered by Paula Carlin, Clay's mom, after the carjackers are brought into the hospital for gunshot wounds.

[edit] Clay's Mission

When Clay locates his birth mother, he asks to borrow Sean's car to go Nevada and meet her. Sean agrees, saying that he has to do it for him.

[edit] Season Two

[edit] Trying to Help

Sean tries to help Clay when Chelsea gets an offer to go to an amazing art school. Clay is hurt, because that may mean he'll never see her again. Sean helps him realize that art school is her dream, and he may have to step aside so that she can be happy.

[edit] Chelsea's Pregnancy

While strolling down the street with Clay, Sean hears about all the chaos thats happening at the Carlin household: Paula discovering Spencer's sexuality and Glen kicking his painkiller addiction. When Clay begins talking about how distant Chelsea is being, Sean tells him to wait it out, because relationships are difficult. At that point Clay reveals that Chelsea is pregnant. Sean is shocked, but stands by Clay's side.

[edit] Street Problems

Sean's cousin Boz is in deep trouble on the streets. When some gangsters corner and beat him up at school, Sean steps in (with some help from Glen, who is over his animosity by now) and saves him. However, that isn't the end of the problem. At the school prom, the gangsters perform a drive-by shooting, leaving Aiden shot and Clay dead.
