Sean B. Gilder (born March 1, 1964, Brampton, Cumbria, England) is an English actor.
He is best-known for playing Paddy Maguire on Shameless, and as Styles on Hornblower. Gilder also appeared as "Leslie Johns" on the final episode of Life on Mars
He has also appeared as the Sycorax Leader (Doctor Who) as well as New Tricks, Gangs of New York, and the 2005 film, King Arthur, which starred Keira Knightley and Ray Winstone. And also he was in Mike Bassett: England Manager as one of the journalists.[citation needed]
In March 2008 Sean also appeared as Paddy's gay twin brother Noel in Shameless, however in a trick to viewers, Noel was credited as being played by Neil Grades-an anagram of Sean Gilder.[citation needed]
On 3 April 2008 He appeared on The Paul O'Grady Show alongside fellow Shameless star Alice Barry.[1]

Sean Gilder attended Queen Mary, University of London[2] where he earned a BA (Hons) in Modern History and Third World Studies. He undertook his theatre training at the Webber Douglas Academy.
