Sean Patrick Gallagher (born December 30, 1985 in Boston, Massachusetts) is a pitcher in Major League Baseball who plays for the Chicago Cubs.
Gallagher was drafted by the Cubs in the 12th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He played for the Peoria Chiefs and made the Midwest League All-star game. Gallagher made his major league debut on June 9, 2007 against the Atlanta Braves. During the week of April 20-27, 2008, Gallagher was named the Pacific Coast League pitcher of the week, and he remains one of the Cubs top pitching prospects.[1]
Sean Gallagher is a promising prospect for the Cubs who features an above average fastball, curveball, and slider. Gallagher was once rumored to be in a deal that would have brought Brian Roberts of the Baltimore Orioles over the Cubs. The Cubs decided to stick with the promising young pitcher.
