FreeAgent is a line of external hard drives manufactured by Seagate. They include FreeAgent Pro, FreeAgent Desktop, and FreeAgent Go. They range in size from 60 GB to 1 TB.
The Freeagent drives have received lots of criticism lately due to high percentage of failures and unreliability [1]. The most common problems include disappearance of files and folders, file system corruption, not being able to mount the drive on any system. While the hard drive itself continues working properly, electronic controller responsible for bridging different interfaces such as SATA and USB fails completely.
