Sea Swift is a regional sea freight company, operating from Cairns, Queensland to Thursday Island. The company ships dry and frozen cargo to 12 different islands. This includes a vital supplies of food to remote islands[1][2]

Along with general cargo transport and passenger services, Sea Swift also provide mothershipping services[3]. Commercial fishing vessels on the coast of Far North Queensland and in the Gulf of Carpentaria, use Sea Swift for stores receival, crew exchange, and product transfer.

In July 2005, Endeavour Shipping added Thursday Island to its weekly service between Cairns and Bamaga. This broke Sea Swift's monopoly on the shipping trade between Cairns and Thursday Island, and caused some shipping rates to drop by almost half.[4]

Sea Swift was nominated to receive a Quarantine Certificate of Commendation in 2005, but it was ultimately won by Ergon Energy[5][6].
