The story arc has so far revolved around a conflict in the fictional Samaru Islands, the activities of businessman Ray Walsman and the unknown connection between a group of military trained Hungarian backpackers who attacked a Hammersley crewman during a boarding, and a group of Turkmenistani mercenaries who attempted to hijack the Hammersley. Each of these threads has been developed separately, but connections have recently been revealed in the episode Shadow Line - the mercenaries stole a boat from Walsman and attempted to escape to Samaru.
Personal subplots include: Nav and ET being forced to hide their relationship; Spider's relationship with Carly Walsman; Charge suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after being stabbed; Kate starting a relationship with SAS officer Jim Roth, and Mike considering leaving the Navy after Walsman offers him a job.Mike also gets Shot and Kate takes over as "CO".
