[edit] Fair Use Rationale

This photography of an authentic drawing by a small child of Sderot is invaluable for illustrating the horrors of living in a war zone or under a constant threat of attacks.
The Israel Ministry of foreign affairs as the material owner of the drawing has explicitly agreed to the use of the image of the drawing on Wikipedia and – on my request – the MFA Webmaster has provided me a high resolution file of the image. Before uploading I have reduced the resolution to 25 percent. As the MFA is not the copyright holder, they cannot license the image.
Use of this low resolution image in articles about the current situation of Sderot – and eventually about comparable scenarios – should qualify as Fair use under U.S. copyright law.
