[edit] Parent cats
The category Category:Minnesota in the Civil War is a parent cat for Category:Minnesota Civil War regiments. As such, per Wikipedia guidelines, the parent cat is typically not referenced alongside the subcat. Feel free, by the way, to join the Civil War task force, we woul love to have you on board! That makes sense. I look forward to working with you all. Scromett 19:11, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Wisconsin regiment articles
Thanks for contributing these articles! I made several minor stylistic and spelling changes per the guidelines we use for the American Civil War Task Force (see 2nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment). For example, only the first word in titles is capitalized (Total enlistments and casualties). Also note that enlistments is not spelled enlistements. The year in full dates has a trailing comma (December 25, 1865, to January 30, 1865, for your lists of colonels and their command dates. Also, references should be delineated with <re> and </ref> commands and later placed in a Notes section. Please adjust your current articles and future ones using this style. Also, please check out User:Hlj/CWediting for ideas. Keep those articles coming! Thanks on behalf of the ACW Task Force! Scott Mingus 17:35, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Repost of Battery "K" 1st Regiment Michigan Light Artillery
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Battery "K" 1st Regiment Michigan Light Artillery, by Tdmg (talk ยท contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Battery "K" 1st Regiment Michigan Light Artillery was previously deleted as a result of an articles for deletion (or another XfD)
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Battery "K" 1st Regiment Michigan Light Artillery, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it did not nominate Battery "K" 1st Regiment Michigan Light Artillery itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:54, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Military History
I see that you like military history a lot with the creation of so many articles on the Illinois civil war regiments. I was wondering if you would be able to assist us in expanding Battle of Stillman's Run to eventual GA status. If you aren't interested, that is ok, but I just figured I would ask! Thanks, I appreciate your time.--Kranar drogin 19:10, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Use of the "battery" link
Hi, and thanks for your work on the artillery battery articles.
I have a request. When you want to link to the meaning for "battery", please use battery instead using battery. When you use the plain form, you link to a disambiguation page that is not useful to your reader. I have been cleaning up links to the plain form from many different kinds of articles, not just yours, which is how I happened to see your articles. The electricity guys tend to be the biggest offenders, but we also get a fair number of criminal battery types also.
Thanks. -Arch dude 00:51, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
I just changed about 16 articles that had artillery battery in them. They now have artillery battery instead. I hope this is acceptable. -Arch dude 01:13, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Excellent catch! I will fix my template to correct this in the future. I'm having a duh! moment. Scromett 12:55, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
