[edit] Intro
Hey I really don't know much about this. I just wanted a arena to express my thoughts and as I already had an account on Wikipedia I thought 'Hey why not.' I seem to be using the word 'hey' a lot. Anyway I'm waffling. Basically I'm just going to use this as a page to express my thoughts.
[edit] My First Entry
This is a little something a knocked up for an essay it was a bit overthought for the time but with a question like "Does God Exist?" what do you expect.
This Contains quotes from Paradise Lost by John Milton:
[edit] Does God Exist?
“Does God Exist?” This question is possibly the most pondered question in history. Trying to answer it is totally impossible so I won’t. Trying to not answer the question is the question is equally as impossible. To be unbiased is impossible. Life is impossible! But deal with it we must or perish. Thus it is with the question- Does God Exist?
The simple answer would be no-one knows but that is not an answer, it is a postponement of the question, and the question being one that must be resolved; cannot be postponed yet cannot be answered.
If I were to take a knife and slit the veins about my wrist and feel my very lifeblood slip away what would be the end result? Heart failure. Then what?
But now I just pose more questions when my purpose is to answer. Does God Exist? How can anyone know there are those who claim to have experienced the power of God but do they lie or tell the truth or do they simply believe. If you truly believe in something does it make it true? You’d like to think so wouldn’t you but is belief enough? It is for some but not for others. Yet when I listen to those who believe they sound, to me like all the world, madmen but how I wish that I too could share there madness for it is a burden not to believe.
“The mind is its own place, and in itself Can make a heav'n of hell, a hell of heav'n.”
So is God what we make of “Him.” If we created God in our image then surely he is imperfect and if he is imperfect how can he be God.
If God is perfect then “He” is no more than a machine and how can a machine be worshipped.
“The world was all before them, where to choose Their place of rest, and Providence their guide: They hand in hand with wand'ring steps and slow Through Eden took their solitary way.”
If God does exist in the myriad of eternity then true freedom cannot, and the day we renounce freedom is the day we truly do renounce God.
‘Tis better to be Free in hell than to believe in heaven
