[edit] Reverted copy/paste
I reverted a large amount of text that was copied from the web site http://www.knoxetal.com/scruton/scruton.htm -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 18:24, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi there,
I have permission from the ORIGINAL author to use his historical text. Cyril Preston lives two doors away from me and has given me the text. I have copied it from the Word document of the text on my own PC. I was unaware that it was also posted on knoxetal before reading your email. Of course, I don't know whether the authors of the knoxetal web page also have Cyril's permission to use his text.
I hope that helps.
Best wishes, D
- That does help, and thank-you for pointing it out. However it still might not be entirely beneficial to simply paste the whole chunk of text into this article. It would be best to edit the pasted text so that it flows with what is already present in the article. Otherwise, it will read like just what it is: two separate articles which have been copied-and-pasted next to each other. :) Cheers. --PeruvianLlama(spit) 18:54, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, I understand. This is my first edit on Wikipedia (I live in Scruton) and so I didn't appreciate what was happening when the text kept vanishing.
What I've done now, instead of copying the text, is to link to http://www.scruton.net, where readers can find the text.
Thanks for your guidance with this. Best wishes, D
