Screenwise is Australia’s leading film and TV acting school and is based in the Sydney suburb of Surry Hills . It is a privately owned school founded by an Australian Actress Denise Roberts. Screenwise is located around the corner from Sydney Central Station.

Established in 2000 Screenwise first opened its doors in Crows Nest with 11 students and one tutor. Over the past eight years, Screenwise has grown from an underdog to leader of the pack providing the most current and hands on screen learning experience in the country.
[edit] Admission
Admission into the National Screenwise Institute’s 2 Year Intensive and Showreel courses are highly competitive with only 24 applicants accepted out of 100’s each year. The short courses that run every 7 weeks are much easier to get in to, although an audition is still a prerequisite. Screenwise graduates have gone on to perform on national and international levels and are well sought after by Producers and Casting Directors.

In May 2001 Screenwise moved from it’s Crows Nest location to a three storey terrace house formerly King & Zarkesh Casting Offices in Paddington and in 2005 Screenwise found it’s new home in Sydney’s creative hub of Surry Hills. These facilities include three large studios equipped with a Green Screen.

Full time and long term courses at Screenwise include: • Full time 2 Year Diploma • Part time 2 Year Intensive • Part time 12 Month Showreel Course Short Courses Screenwise also offers a variety of short courses which commence every 7 weeks throughout the year. They cater to all levels of experience from complete novices to advanced professionals.

Screenwise only employs current working Australian and International Actors, Directors, Producers and Casting Consultants.
