- I appreciate that Danbury Area Computer Society is a work in progress--everything here is. But you need to establish the notability before you take off the notability tag. It's a maintenance tag--it points out what still needs done. If I thought it wasn't possible to fix, I'd simply nominate the article for deletion--which is the impression I'm getting with the removals. NickelShoe (Talk) 02:47, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- Um...you haven't said anything in the article to indicate that it's notable. You need multiple independent non-trivial works covering the organization. So far you don't have any. Did a newspaper write an article about you or anything? NickelShoe (Talk) 01:55, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm. Then I guess you're screwed. 18:33, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Exteriormainentr.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Exteriormainentr.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:14, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

.
- Owning the physical image doesn't mean that you owned the copyright. If the school does own the copyright, and you're a representative of the school, you have two possibilities:
- Place the image on the school's website and mention that is was, e.g., {{cc-by-sa}}. Credit the architect. (And check back with the architect before doing so.)
- Send an e-mail from an official school e-mail address with a formal release for the image (stating clearly the license, e.g., CC-BY-SA) and mentioning who should be credited (i.e., the architect) to permissions AT wikimedia DOT org. The e-mail must also clearly indicate to which image on Wikipedia this release applies. Note that a "for Wikipedia only" or a "non-commercial only" release would not be good enough.
- In either case, if I were you, I'd check back with the architect and maybe even get legal advice. Architectural works (blueprints, scenes such as this one, but even the finished buildings) are copyrighted, and in general, the architect owns the copyright.

- Well, I don't decide over deletion delays. Mention it on the deletion page; maybe that's enough to have the image not deleted yet. But if it is deleted, it's no big deal either. You could just upload the image again once the copyright issues are sorted out, or you could ask for undeletion of the image. (Re-uploading under the same name is probably simpler, though.) - All right, so now the image exists on the school web site. But there still is no copyright/license indication. If you want to use that image on Wikipedia, it needs to be licensed under a free license such as {{cc-by}} or {{cc-by-sa}}. Either place a notice to that effect on the web page of the school web site, or send an e-mail from an official school address to permissions AT wikimedia DOT org, explaining under which license this image is being published. [edit] Speedy deletion of Danbury Area Computer Society
A tag has been placed on Danbury Area Computer Society requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
