[edit] Speedy deletion of Foneshop

A tag has been placed on Foneshop, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Pigman 20:00, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. Ridernyc 09:51, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Foneshop, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from all of Wikipedia. Elkman (Elkspeak) 13:05, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

  • The reason that Foneshop got deleted (for the fifth time) is that it appears to be there only as advertising. Unless there are reliable sources that support notability for the company, I can only assume that you're adding the Foneshop article for advertising purposes. Indeed, within the first several pages of Google search results, most of what I saw were commercial links and press releases, as well as one reference that said that Foneshop was doing very well with Google's AdSense program. You asked about CloudNine Communications and Netopia. CloudNine is notable because they were covered in external sources. Netopia is a little more nebulous, but Google News shows independent news stories about Netopia. When Foneshop gets to be as big as CloudNine or Netopia, and is covered in external media, maybe then it will be worthy of an article. Until then, please read Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Spam. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 17:19, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
