[edit] Original drummer?

I was under the impression that Chris Cornell was actually the original drummer of Soundgarden--that is, he sang and drummed simultaneously. Is that not true? DLCinMaine 20:11, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes, Soundgarden did start out as a three-piece band with Thayil on guitar, Yamamoto on bass, and Cornell on vocals and drums, a la Dave Clark. However, the band brought in Sundquist on drums so Cornell could focus on vocals. All of this information has been added to the article. 71.125.83.63 (talk) 03:57, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
