  • From the Background section it seems like promoting Gaylord's Big Bell mine was the reason for the run, but this isn't returned to later in the article. Is further information available on the link between the run and the mine?

Scotty did not build this!

It was built by a Chicago millionaire Albert Johnson, as a winter holiday retreat, although he let his friend Scotty live there, and indeed in his will granted it to a religious organisation on condition that Scotty could stay there until his own death chrisboote 14:25, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
