Would someone like to do something about the nomenclature here? 'Scotch' is either an Anglo-Saxon term for a Caledonian drink, or a racist term for Scotsman,(e.g.Negro-Nigger). Can I clarify?

  1. Scotch- Egg, Best Pies in the world, Bonnet-(a particularly strong West Indian Chili pepper), Whisky etc.
  2. Scottish-anything originating north of the Solway-Tweed boundary
  3. Scots-adjective describing the people furth of the aforesaid boundary.
It's not a racist term for a scotsman, its just a different way of saying the same thing. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it is "racist" (a term which I find hard to associate with a scotsman). Anyway User:Paul foord has now done a good job separating the pages, so the ones called Scots are here, the ones called Scotch are here, and you don't need to worry about seeing colleges with "Scotch" in their name if you don't want to :P -- Chuq 20:58, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
