Talk:Scotland national rugby union team
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
" There has been talk of establishing a fourth team based in London, so far unrealised, and of bringing back the Caledonian region". In my opinion this is very old and should be deleted. SRU doesn't want new teams today!
Why is Bill McLaren in the list of notable players? He never played for Scotland.

There's an incoherence in between the overall matches chart on this page and the one on the Argetina page: The Argentina page states there have been 9 matches in between Scotland and Argentina, whereas the chart on this page states 6. Being no rugby expert, I'll let those who are decide which one is right but I thought this should be pointed out. Alexi035 09:00, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Score for 1st match v England in 1871 was 1 goal to 0, not 4-1 - there was no points system at that time only goals (converted tries) counted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Exile (talk • contribs) 18:35, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nations succesion box
I've removed it again. Scotland were not 6 Nations champions, they were 5 nations champions. The box is also unwieldy and unsuitable for a tournament has been played every year for over one hundred years.GordyB 10:30, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Succession box discussion
A discussion has been started about the breadth and formatting of succession boxes for national rugby union teams at WikiProject Rugby union. Please see the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Rugby union#Succession boxes. - Shudde talk 22:35, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Nickname
Do they have any nickname? Thistles? --MacRusgail (talk) 21:45, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
- None that I have ever heard of. I don't think that the Scots rugby team ever attracts nicknames that are regularly applied or would not be appropriate for any Scottish national sports team.GordyB (talk) 15:23, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Twickenham wins
Can I suggest that the last sentence be changed to "no victories AT TWICKENHAM since 1983". Anyone glancing at the article may think it means the team haven't won outside Scotland at all since 1983 - which is obviously wrong. PeemJim86 (talk) 18:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
