Scouting in Norfolk

Norfolk is a county in East Anglia, England. Scouting in this County is presently offered by two Scout Associations. Norfolk Scout County is a Scout County of the Scout Association in the United Kingdom, covering the county of Norfolk. Norfolk is also part of the Baden-Powell Scout Association East Anglia District, who have one active Group within the County. Historically the British Boy Scouts were also active in the area.

[edit] The Scout Association

The Scout Association's Norfolk Scout County has 128 Scout Groups, divided into nine Districts. Central Norfolk District have 12 Scout Groups, East Norfolk District have 13 Groups, North East Norfolk District have 14 Groups, North West Norfolk District have 16 Groups, South West Norfolk have 15 Groups, Southern Norfolk District have 15 Groups, East Norwich District have 12 Groups, North Norwich District have 14 Groups and Southern Norfolk District have 17 Groups.

[edit] The Baden-Powell Scout Association

At present time the Baden-Powell Scout Association only has one active Group in the County, Fakenham Lancaster B-P Air Scouts , who are part of the B-PSA's East Anglia District. This Group also operate a Rover Scout Service Crew.

The British Boy Scouts operated 1st Norwich (St Marks) Group and 1st Winterton-on-Sea (Holy Trinity and All Saints) Group, although these had both closed by 1999.
