Scottish Labour Party (Democratic Wing)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Scottish Labour Party (Democratic Wing) was a short-lived Scottish political party formed by members and branches expelled from the Scottish Labour Party (1976) at the SLP's first congress. The expellees were accused of being International Marxist Group (IMG) infiltrators, but this was initially only true of a minority of those expelled. Later the SLP(DW) renamed itself as the Scottish Socialist League. Gradually those members who had not been associated with the IMG dropped out and the organisation was reabsorbed into the Trotskyist Fourth International.
