Scott Mark Wells, (born 14 September 1988 in Walsgrave, Coventry) is a professional footballer currently without a club after an early career with Derby County.
Initially, Wells was a member of the Coventry City Academy team - after being spotted playing for local team Athletic United, but after only three years with City, he switched to Derby in 2001.
Awarded a scholarship with the club in 2004, Wells' bad luck through injuries resulted him dropping down the pecking order in the youth squad. Whilst ex-team mates such as Miles Addison and Giles Barnes have gone on to become first team squad members at Pride Park, Wells was sent out on loan to Sheffield Wednesday - during which Wells' reassessed his future.
On his return to Derby, Wells was that his services were no longer required and he left the club. Wells' career looked to have stalled, and for a time he played for Rugby Town and then Bedworth United. He impressed fans and the media alike with some top notch performances at the Oval, and has since been awarded a scholarship at a top university in the United States.
Wells now has lined up, a trial with LA Galaxy, the same team David Beckham will be moving too in the Summer of 2007.
