Scott Stantis

Scott Brian Stantis (born May 2, 1959 in San Diego, California) is an is an American cartoonist.

He currently draws editorial cartoons for The Birmingham News and USA Today. He was previously a staff cartoonist for The Orange County Register, The Commercial Appeal, and The Arizona Republic.
His editorial cartoons are also syndicated to newspapers via Copley News Service. He usually espouses a conservative and/or pro-Republican stance in his cartoons.
In addition to his editorial cartoons, Stantis has also created the following comic-strips:
- Sydney (1985-1986; through United Media)
- The Buckets (1990-present; originally through Tribune Media Services, later through United Media)
- Prickly City (2004-present; through Universal Press Syndicate).
Stantis has also assisted Bob Thaves on his comic-strip King Baloo.

Stantis was born in 1959 in San Diego, California. Because he is currently the staff editorial cartoonist for the Birmingham News, he resides in Hoover, Alabama with his wife, Janien Fadich-Stantis. They have two college-age sons.
