Scott Porter (born July 14, 1979) is an American actor who plays Jason Street in the NBC television drama Friday Night Lights. His character uses a wheelchair as a result of a football injury. The real life character that Porter's role is based on recently died at the age of 20.

Porter was born in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to joining the cast of Friday Night Lights, Porter played Matthew in the original cast of the Off-Broadway hit Altar Boyz. He can be heard on the show's cast recording. In 2006, he temporarily took over the role of Casey Hughes in the soap opera As the World Turns, a role originally portrayed by Zach Roerig. He also plays the role of Colin Thompson, the more visible part of the duo that fronts the fictional band PoP!, in the movie Music and Lyrics (Warner Brothers, 2007). He played Bobby in the remake of Prom Night and is set to play Ben Wheatly in the movie Rock On set for release in 2008. He will be co-starring alongside Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Lisa Kudrow, Alyson Michalka, Gaelan Connell and others. He portrayed Rex Racer in the Wachowski brothers film adaptation of Speed Racer.[1]

Currently he lives in Austin, Texas with his girlfriend.
