Scott Darwin Player (born December 17, 1969 in St. Augustine, Florida) is an American football punter who is currently a free agent. He was signed by the Birmingham Barracudas as a street free agent in 1995. He played college football at Florida State.
Player has also been a member of the New York Giants, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. He was a Pro Bowl alternate with the Cardinals in 1999 and a Pro Bowl selection in 2000.

He has played ten years in the NFL, nine of which were with the Cardinals and a portion of one with the Cleveland Browns, He also played in the Canadian Football League and in NFL Europa with the Frankfurt Galaxy. Player is currently the only player wearing a 1-bar facemask, which was restricted by NFL in 2004. His facemask is covered under a Grandfather Clause.

Player played for the Cardinals between 1998 and 2006, earning a Pro Bowl selection in 2000. The Cardinals released him on August 29, 2007.
[edit] Cleveland Browns
On September 18, 2007, Player was signed by the Cleveland Browns after Dave Zastudil was injured. On October 8, 2007, the Browns released him.[1]

On April 18, 2008, Player was signed by the New England Patriots to compete with incumbent Chris Hanson. However, he was released on June 12.
