Scott Newton (New York)

Scott Newton (Michael Scott Newton) born March 3, 1949 in Rochester, NY, is an American photographer specializing in music and politics.

Born to a US Air Force pilot Newton grew up all over the world moving from place to place every couple years.

After moving to Austin, TX in 1973 Newton's fledgling career as a freelance photographer was launched at The Armadillo World Headquarters. After spending several years as the staff photographer at The Austin Opry House (where he photographed such greats as Willie Nelson and Tom Waits) he was hired for the popular PBS television series Austin City Limits.

Scott is also an accomplished political photographer and works only for democrats.
