Scott McClure
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scott F. McClure is an American politician who in 2004 ran a write-in campaign for United States Senate in Idaho. A Democrat, McClure ran against Republican incumbent Mike Crapo.
McClure was the de facto Democratic nominee because no one filed to run against Crapo before the March 2004 deadline. As a result McClure was not formally nominated and did not appear on the ballot. Due to this and the popularity of Crapo, as well as the conservative ideology of the state of Idaho, McClure only received around one percent of the vote.
In 2006 McClure filed to run for Idaho State House of Representatives in District 26 as a Democrat. He was defeated by incumbent Bert Stevenson. McClure resides in Jerome.
