Scott McCaughey

Scott McCaughey (surname pronounced "Mc-COY") is the leader of the Seattle-based bands The Young Fresh Fellows and The Minus 5. Since 1994, he has been a sort of "fifth member" of R.E.M., working with the band both on stage and in the studio. He plays guitar, bass, and other assorted instruments.

He is also bassist for "The Venus 3" with Robyn Hitchcock, Bill Rieflin and Peter Buck.
