[edit] Scott as Musician

In 1975, Scott was first recorded playing instruments for Jack Nitzche's soundtrack to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. In 1976, after his initial exposure as a member of Nitzche's soundtrack, he played drums, guitars, and performed background vocals on the Barbra Streisand record, Streisand Superman. Mathews soon teamed up with writing partner Ron Nagle, who had written songs for Streisand Superman. In 1979, Mathews and Nagle signed a recording contract with Capitol Records to record under the name 'The Durocs.' Their debut record earned a solid '5 star' review from Rolling Stone.[citation needed] The Durocs had a 'top 10' record in Europe[citation needed] but decided not to continue performing and instead continued in writer/producer roles. Mathews was offered the drummer position in The Beach Boys, but turned it down.[citation needed]

[edit] Miscellaneous

Scott Mathews would like to point out that his last name is spelled Mathews and not Matthews. The misspelling can be difficult in the digital world.
