Scott Kleeb

Scott Kleeb (born August 23, 1975) is an American rancher, professor, and political candidate in Nebraska. Kleeb is the Democratic candidate in the election for the open US Senate seat being vacated by Republican Chuck Hagel.[1]
In the Democratic primary election held on May 13, 2008, Kleeb won nearly 70 percent of the vote in a four-candidate race; his nearest opponent was Tony Raimondo, a former Republican.[2] As a result of this victory, in the general election in November he will face Republican Mike Johanns, former Agriculture Secretary and Nebraska governor. In 2006, Kleeb was a candidate for Nebraska's 3rd Congressional District seat, a race that he lost to his Republican rival Adrian Smith by 10 percentage points.
Kleeb first studied at University of Colorado at Boulder where he graduated summa cum laude; he then attended Yale University where he earned a Master's degree in International Relations and a PhD in History.[4] He currently teaches at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska where he is an adjunct history professor. He has a wife and two children.
