Scott Hunter is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Seattle, Washington.

He was born in Illinois as Scott Mitchell Hunter in September 1979. He grew up for most of his life in Alaska. After he moved to Washington with his brother and mother, he joined the band BellBangVilla after he lived there a while. BellBangVilla turned into the band Poor Old Lu in 1990. He got married during that time. In 1998 the band had their initial break up. However, in 2002, the band got together for one last time and recorded their final album, The Waiting Room. In 2005, he teamed up with some Poor Old Lu fans to create the band This Diminishing West. They disbanded after creating their only album, Ninety-Seven Weeks.

He currently lives near Seattle, Washington with his family.

His career in music began around 1990 with the band RoseBlossomPunch. It later became Poor Old Lu. He sang and later played some guitar in Poor Old Lu. In 2005, he joined the group This Diminishing West to sing.
