Scott Griffiths

Scott Griffiths (born November 27, 1985) is an English footballer, currently playing for Dagenham & Redbridge.

[edit] Early Playing Career

Scott started his football career playing for and later captaining a Basildon Club called Beech United, (Although he lived in South Ockendon) It was at a Cup Final played at Roots Hall, when he was 13, Scott and some other Beech players were signed to the youth team at Southend United, Scott left three years later to join the Football Academy at Thurrock and Basildon College where he studied Sports Science. Whilst playing for the Academy team, they won the "Treble" in their league and also won two cups. He was also capped by Essex for their County Football Team, and missed out on a place in the England Under 19's team when he was injured before the final trial.

After College, at age 17 he signed for Aveley F.C. where he played in midfield for one season managing nine goals, then Dagenham and Redbridge signed him in 2004.

After half a season in the reserve team, he made his debut as a substitute against Forest Green Rovers in the Nationwide Conference and afterwards was a regular at Left-Back, although he is naturally a left sided midfielder.

During Dagenham's Non-League tenure, Scott was a regular in the National Game XI side, which won the European Challenge Trophy in 2006.

During the 2006-2007 season which saw Dagenham gain Promotion to Coca-Cola League 2, Scott played in all but one of Dagenham's matches.
