Scott Julian Golbourne (born February 29, 1988, Bristol, England) is a professional footballer, currently playing for Reading. He is also an England youth international.

[edit] Football career

A left back who rose through the ranks at Bristol City, Golbourne joined Reading on 3 January 2006 after impressive performances in the FA Youth Cup for Bristol City.

Golbourne made only one appearance, as a substitute against Stoke City, in his first season with Reading, then joined Wycombe Wanderers on an initial one month loan deal, subsequently extended to three months, on 16 August 2006. He made 15 league and four cup appearances whilst at Wycombe, scoring one goal, a superb solo effort, against Grimsby Town in his final game for the club, on 18 November 2006.[1] Golbourne then rejoined Wycombe on loan until the end of the 2006-07 season during the January 2007 transfer window.[2]

He made his first start for Reading in their 3-0 loss to Bolton Wanderers on 25 August 2007, due to Reading's first choice left back, Nicky Shorey, being injured whilst on international duty with England.[3]

He joined Bournemouth on a month's loan on 6 November 2007,[4] which was subsequently extended to 12 January 2008.[5]
