Scott Fitzgerald Lacy (born May 11, 1966 in Eureka, California) is a photographer, videographer and programmer who lives in Washington, D.C. He is perhaps best known for his height--6 feet, 7 inches--but he has also attracted attention as a photographer capturing the hidden beauty of blighted sections of the nation's capital.
Lacy began his professional career in journalism. He started out as a fledgling reporter at the now-defunct Anchorage Times, where in 1992 he won the Associated Press Best Sports Feature award (circulation 50,000 and under). Lacy served stints at the Lake Havasu City Herald and Los Angeles Daily News before becoming seduced by the fast-growing world of the Internet. Lacy later became one of the first 15 employees of Washington, D.C.-based Blackboard, an e-learning company whose software is used at thousands of universities and colleges around the globe.
