Scorpiodoras heckelii is the only species in the genus Scorpiodoras of the catfish (order Siluriformes) family Doradidae.[1] This species originates from the Negro, Orinoco and upper Amazon river basins and reaches a length of about 16 centimetres (6 in).[2]
