Scoresby Sund (Kangertittivaq) is the longest fjord in the world,[citation needed] stretching for 350 km (217 miles), and also one of the deepest (over 1500 m, 4,900 ft deep). It is located in East Greenland at 70.447972 N, 21.789562 W, relatively close to Iceland. In the fjord is a large island called Milne Land.
Ittoqqortoormiit (Scoresbysund) is the main settlement in the region, located near the mouth of the fjord.
