[edit] The Members

The group consists of 5 primary members. Ian Brown, Pol (pronounced Paul) Plastino, Aaron Spires, Luke Hillan and Matthew "Maul" Theilade. The 5 met primarily in high school, and were known for their wacky hijinks. Eventually it was decided that the crazy witty stories and observations of the group would make for great comedy, and the group was born.

[edit] The Tom Cruise bet

The first order of Business was a sketch. It came in the form of Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. While viewing television, Maul saw an interview with Cruise explaining his love for Katie Holmes. Becoming annoyed with his constant emoting, Maul had mentioned to Pol that while he respects his acting, his personal life was becoming annoying. Pol said his acting was never good, and after declaring that Pol himself could out act Tom Cruise, a bet of 200 dollars was laid on the table. 200 dollars being the standard bet amount, ever since Pol lost this amount during his virginity bet with Aaron Spires, and once won a 200 dollar bet from Fake Shark Real Zombie band member Louis Hearn (who refused to pay on the grounds that a handshake doesn't count).

A panel of judges would be selected, and Pol would perform from scenes from previous Cruise films chosen by Maul. If the majority of the judges voted for Pol, Maul would have to paid Pol 200 dollars, If Tom's original scenes were declared superior, Maul would be paid 200 dollars.

In a close contest, Pol came up short. Tom Cruise won 6 - 5 in sudden death. The final battle was the bottle spinning scene from Cocktail. Pol declared that this was unfair due to the training involved. The judges agreed, and Pol was exempt from paying. Days later while watching the footage of a scene they had filmed of the movie Rain Man, Pol scoffed at Maul's performance as the Dustin Hoffman character. Maul claimed He did an equal or better job then Hoffman, to which Pol quickly declared " double or nothing".

A sequel has yet to be filmed.

[edit] Trivia

The name Scoreless in the first comes from the EA sports hockey game NHL 06. The group was having trouble thinking of a name. While playing NHL 06, 2 seconds into the period the announcer would mention that the game is still "Scoreless in the first". Ian Brown and Aaron Spires pitched it to the group and the name was chosen.

Matthew "Maul" Theilade's Nick name 'Maul' comes from his old wrestling days. Maul was a heavyweight champion in the province of British Columbia.

Sciencetology* sued over the footage of Tom Cruise used in the sketch, claiming ownership rights of his likeness. When asked about the ownership of the footage used, the respective movie studios said that Sciencetology doesn't own them; Sciencetology then responded "Quiet you" and sued them for everything and killed their Dog.**

  • Sciencetology is spelt wrong to avoid an interstellar war with the space lawyer droids from the planet 'Teegeeackk'.
    • May not have happened exactly as described or at all.
