The scoophead, Sphyrna media, is a hammerhead shark of the family Carcharhinidae, found in tropical waters of the western Atlantic Ocean between latitudes 31° N and 34° S. Its length is up to about 1.5 m.

The little-known scoophead is found in inshore areas over the continental shelves. It is viviparous.

Its flesh is utilized fresh for human consumption and for fishmeal.
