European Journal of Inflammation is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal published four monthly. The journal is an international forum covering a wide range of topics in inflammation (immunology, pathology, pharmacology and general experimental and clinical medicine) The intention as that the journal should reflect both the experimental and clinical aspects of inflammation. Only articles written in English will be published. The scientific standard is the only criterion for accepting a manuscript for publication. The style should be clear and concise, Excessive use of jargon or unusual abbreviations should be avoided. Contributors must send the Editor in chief three complete copies (as well as an electronic copy to: mailto:pconti@unich.it) of the text, tables and figures. It is essential that they retain one copy of the original manuscript as the Editor does not accept responsibility for damage or loss of papers submitted. Papers are accepted on the understanding that no substantial part has been, or will be published elsewhere, and once they have been accepted they remain the copyright of the journal. Papers not accepted for publication will not be returned to the authors, Preparation of the text Manuscripts should be typewritten (double spacing) on only one side of the paper with 30 mm margins all around and on a separate sheet, should bear the title of the paper, name and postal address of the author, together with the name of the Institution where the work was done. Author’s first names should be initialized. For indexing purposes a small number of key words should be supplied. Generally, papers should be divided into the following parts and in the order indicated (1) Summary about 5% of the length of the paper, (2) Introduction containing the reason for doing the work, (3) Materials and Methods: sufficient information must be included to permit repetition of the experimental work; (4) Results: these should be given concisely; the use of tables and figures to illustrate the same results will only rarely be allowed; (5) Discussion: the presentation of results should be separate from a discussion of their significance, the section should not repeat results, (6) Acknowledgments, if any, (7) References these should be cited in the text by a number in parentheses and listed at the end of the paper in numerical order. All tables and figures should be cited in order in the text, using roman numerals for the tables and Arabic numerals for figures. Tables should have a short title, Illustrations should carry their numbers and the Authors name un the back, written in light pencil; when necessary, “top” should be indicated on the back. To ensure clear reproduction, diagrams, charts, and other line drawings should be drawn in black India ink, and submitted as glossy. black and white photo prints: for half-tone work, good photographic print should be supplied. In both cases, photocopies are not accepted as original artwork. Tables and illustrations should be of a size easily handled, the effect of reduction in size to fit the journal page should be considered. Proof-reading: Page proofs will be submitted to the contributors far minor corrections and should be returned to the Editor within three days.
