This template converts an interger expression into scientific notation.

e.g. {{scinote|12345}} gives "1.2345×10⁴"

To round to a given number of significant figures, specify this number as the second unnamed parameter.

e.g. {{scinote|12345|3}} gives "1.23×10⁴"

For engineering notation set fn=eng.

e.g. {{scinote|12345|fn=eng}} gives "12.345×10³"

Trailing zeros are preserved.

e.g. {{scinote|0.001234500}} gives "1.234500×10⁻³"
