Published by National Institute of Science Communication And Information Resources (NISCAIR), New Delhi, a constituent institution of CSIR India, Science Reporter is a monthly science magazine published from India ever since 1964 that is found useful by science aficionados in India and neighboring countries of all ages, especially school students. it was launched with the primary objective of making the people of India aware of the technologies being developed within scientific establishments in India. Today, it has achieved most of these goals.
The focus of Science Reporter is exchanging ideas about the state of science; matters of science policy, and discussing the future course of science in India. It has therefore emerged as a one-stop solution for students on the lookout for latest updates about developments in science, as foreign scientific journals are often inaccessible to most of them. It is a comprehensive source of information, which helps south Asian students of science not only during competitive exams but also throughout their careers mainly because many articles published in Science Reporter are authored by eminent Indian scientists. It has also emerged as a media for encouraging upcoming science writers by guiding them editorially.
Science Reporter has always been in the forefront of reporting scientific events as they happen, whether it is an erupting volcano, a landslide, an earthquake or an oil spill. Or for that matter, important issues such as cloning, satellite launches, or the Human Genome Project. In every issue, Science Reporter presents a mixed package of humour, science fiction, puzzles, science projects and crosswords, and columns dealing with topics such as computers, environment, health and much more.
