Science City Zero
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Science City Zero is a fictional American concentration camp from the Wildstorm comic book Planetary. It was run by the Hark Corporation and Randal Dowling of The Four in the 1950s to test the limits of genetic engineering and human biology on political dissidents. Most of the experimental subjects were re-imaginings of American science fiction movies of the 1950s. Warren Ellis, the author of Planetary, connects McCarthyism and anti-communism to the often reckless scientific experimentation on display in 1950s sci-fi, often encouraged by the military-industrial complex.
Notable occupants of the city include Ambrose Chase's father and (possibly) Marilyn Monroe.
