Hi! I used to be a student at Sharpstown Middle School from 2002-2005. How do you know about the schools history? Im really intrested in the schools history! The historical part that was deleted, I worte it because one of my art teachers told us the story a bit. I probably misunderstood it.

I was a student at the school from 1978-80. The change from junior high to middle school happened when I was starting 9th grade, which is why I remember exactly when it happened. I don't know about any major violence in the 1970s; I suspect that might have been in the 1990s but in any case should have a citation. The Sharpstown scandal doesn't really have anything to do with the school (and is covered in the article on Sharpstown itself). As for the pattern of building the schools, I doubt Long was built to relieve Sharpstown (most likely it was vice-versa) and I know the high school on Bissonnet was built well before the 1980s since I went to school there starting in 1980 (and it was not brand new).
