[edit] Infinity-Borel set
I think you're the one that requested this page, some time ago. Why don't you come take a look, and let me know if you have any comments? --Trovatore 17:55, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
- Looks great, thanks a bunch! ^^ -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 18:12, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks! But I am going to have to insist on the spelling "wellordered". This is the spelling Woodin uses, and he's the expert on these things. It's the standard spelling among West Coast set theorists. See e.g. Moschovakis. --Trovatore 18:57, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
-
-
- If you say so. I never saw that spelling myself before - but then, I'm not a native English speaker, so I'm not terribly sure what's common and what's not. :)
-
I had the same discussion with Trovatore on the topic, and personally prefer the dash version. But I am not a native speaker either (nor expert in the matter). So "wellordering" would be OK. Oleg Alexandrov 21:49, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
- If it's agreed on, then it's OK with me, too. Maybe we should discuss it with some of the native speakers at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mathematics or so? -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 23:07, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Homestead, Florida
Hi, I have a guy who's trying to add real estate spam and pov into this article. He's threatening to violate the 3rr rule. Would appreciate help and mediation. I may be in the wrong here. Thanks.--Muchosucko 20:40, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
- OK, I protected the page for now. Please try to resolve the dispute on the article's talk page, or use the dispute resolution process if that doesn't work. Thanks. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 21:02, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging
Just thought I'd come by say a word of thanks for your efforts with image tagging! It's very much appreciated! :-) --HappyCamper 23:37, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
- No problem. ^_^ -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 23:40, 5 August 2005 (UTC)
-
- However, would you consider leaving a message on the talk pages of uploaders whose images you're disposing of with a no-source, or whatever - otherwise they'll get little or no warning that their image needs to be tagged, and/or may be deleted. It slows down the process, but it probably helps get the message across. There are a couple of templates for this cited on the image tagging mage. thanks --Tagishsimon (talk)
[edit] Canadian Parliament Maps
whats up with this now? I can watch TV, look at parliament, put squares on a white screen in paintbrush, put it on wikipedia, and all of a sudden it gets assualted with a lagalistic and technialistic assualt that only a lawyer could solve? I did not make these images, but I will make replacements if they get deleted. what's up with that? Pellaken 08:06, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
okay, I think I got it figured out. did I do it right? Pellaken 08:31, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
- It's not something only a lawyer could solve. :) But in order for the images to be acceptable for Wikipedia, we have to know who holds the copyright to them and what license they can be used under. If you made them yourself and want to contribute them under the GNU FDL (the license that Wikipedia uses), that's perfect, of course. :)
- Outside of that, I agree the whole thing's somewhat unfortunate, but it has to be done, just so that we're on the safe side. It wouldn't be good if someone decides to sue Wikipedia because a copyrighted image was uploaded, after all. -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 16:26, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Images for deletion
Hi, I listed Image:Gasket14small.png and Image:Gasket12.png for deletion since they aren't used on any page and their image tag is now considered "unfree". If you feel they shouldn't be deleted, voice your opinion on WP:IFD. Thanks. :) Coffee 05:28, 10 August 2005 (UTC)
- Naw, that's fine. :) Thanks for the note, though! -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 16:28, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] California County Route Shields
- Hi, if you come across any other California County Route Shields that are a derivative of [[1]] please let me know. They were all created by me but I don't believe I tagged them all. The appropriate tag is the PD tag as I don't wish to claim copyright on them.Gateman1997 20:06, 15 August 2005 (UTC)
- Sure, will do. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 14:07, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] h2 vs. h1
Hi,
You edited Close front rounded vowel with the comment "use h2, not h1". However, h2 would imply that the section is a subcategory of the main article, wouldn't it? kwami 00:29, 2005 August 25 (UTC)
- If it's not a subcategory of the main article, then it should be in its own article. -- Schnee(cheeks clone) 15:21, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Sigur ros-pictures
Yes, it's a lot better your way. thanks. David Björklund 00:07, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
- No problem. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 00:46, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] LET PEOPLE KNOW
Thanks to you Image:Advertisement 1835.jpg seems to have been deleted, I was unaware you were even trying to have it deleted. Don't be a lazy wikipedian and please inform the uploader if you don't think they haven't provided enough information and place their image on a deletion list. - Diceman 19:04, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
- Keep an eye on your watch list, it's there for a reason - if you don't, I can't help you, either. And for that matter, tag images when you upload them; it's not as if the upload page doesn't tell you to. -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 19:18, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Countries by population
Great work on the new "countries by population" charts! I was too lazy to include all those smaller countries, but I'm glad someone else picked up where I left off. Who knows - maybe it's on its way to being a featured list? – Quadell (talk) 02:58, September 11, 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks. ^^ I noticed that those were missing, and I've never done anything involving timelines yet, so I thought, hey, I'll give it a try. I'm still wondering if the last one should be broken up so that countries with less than about a thousand (or ten thousand or so) residents get their own chart, though - their bars are pretty much invisible on the current chart. What do you think -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 12:52, 11 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] I saw User:Schneelocke/Temp/Pokemon...
I saw User:Schneelocke/Temp/Pokemon, and I wondered if you were still interested in the Pokémon articles. We've come a long way since that rough template, but we could use your input on the proposed style guide and on the Pokémon Wikiproject. That is, if you're still interest in Pokémon, of course. - A Man In Black (Talk | Contribs) 05:04, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
- Not really anymore, but I'm happy to hear that people are still interested in the Pokémon articles - it's always nice to see the Wiki model work. :) I also added a note to that temp page that it's been superseded. -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 19:59, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] GURPS Cyberpunk factual accuracy dispute
I have done as you asked and added the basis for my dispute claim to Talk:GURPS Cyberpunk. However, I have no more information than what was provided in the dispute box itself, which is why I didn't feel motivated to do so in the first place. Somegeek 21:12, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
- Well, you seem to be the one who put in the template, so I guess you should know what exactly you're disputing. :) Thanks, though - what bugged me was just the fact that the template instructs the reader to refer to the page's talk page, and that there wasn't any mention of the dispute at all whatsoever there. -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 23:46, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] German city infobox
Hi! You made infoboxes for some German cities, including Kiel. I just made a new infobox Template:Infobox Town DE (see the talk page for how to use it) for German towns and cities, and intend to replace the existing infoboxes (I counted at least 8 different types) with this one. Do you have any remarks, suggestions etc.? Markussep 10:26, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
- No, it looks good to me. FWIW, the infobox used on Kiel, for example (Template:Kiel infobox), was actually meant to be extendable/adaptable for other cities (look at the way it's constructed, and you'll see how), but I suppose that it may have been a bit too difficult to use or understand in order to really catch on. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone)
[edit] Wonder Boy
Hi there, I'm currently aiming to get the Wonder Boy article to featured article status and have been adding any information I could on the game and have been trying to make the article of encyclopedic quality. It's reaching a bit of a bursting point now, so it would be good to get some feedback on the changes. I noticed you had contributed to the series in some way or another so I thought you may be able to comment. Thanks in advance. Jamyskis Whisper, Contribs 11:14, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Articles For Deletion
Hi, a while ago you made some comments about the presence of bible-verse articles, and/or source texts of the bible, and you may therefore be interested in related new discussions:
- A discussion about 200 articles, one each for the first 200 verses of Matthew - Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/200 verses of Matthew
- A discussion about 18 articles, one each for the first 18 verses of John 20 - Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Verses of John 20
- A discussion about whether or not the entire text of a whole bible chapter should be contained in the 6 articles concerning those specific chapters - Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Whole bible chapter text.

[edit] Arctic wolf
Hello Schneelocke! I did revise the article about the Arctic wolf in the German Wikipedia de:Polarwolf and my investigations therefore did show, that you have a copyrighted image of the Arctic Wolf in the article in the English Wikipedia. So I ask you for the use of your photography in the German Wikipedia - may I use your photography in the article de:Polarwolf in the German Wikipedia please or want you put the photography into this article? I thank you in advance, de:Benutzer:Doc Taxon
- You mean Image:Arcticwolf_distribution.gif? Sure, go ahead - it's GFDL'd (in fact, why not upload it to the Commons while you're at it?). ^_~ The other one (Image:Polarwolf004.jpg) wasn't taken by me, but since the author stated that it can be used for any purpose, I think that uploading it to the German Wikipedia shouldn't be a problem, either. -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 22:04, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tool-assistance improvement drive
Hi Schneelocke. Since you're a Wikipedian and also a member of Bisqwit's site, I'd like to direct your attention to the tool-assisted speedrun article, which I would like to do an improvement drive for this weekend. I'll personally be editing it heavily to try to bring it up to the status of good article, but I'll need the help of good editors who know a lot about the phenomenon. It would be great if you could help out! The talk page contains some information that you could get started with. In case you're up for some editing, see you there! —Michiel Sikma, 06:37, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll take a look. Thanks for pointing that one out! :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 07:52, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Redlink at Gimel function
In the article Gimel function, you wrote "... the gimel function is used for studying the continuum function and the cardinal exponentiation function.". I am trying to eliminate the redlinks by either creating redirects or modifying the link or creating an article to satisfy the link. What did you mean by continuum function? [edit] Burzum
If you're interested in cleaning the Burzum article (since you already started) read on burzum.org, A Burzum story - The Nazi Ghost. He said that he used the term Nazi because it was similiar to his views, but later renounced that and now has his own views not trying to label them as Nazism, Satanism or whatever. I don't wan't to go into that stuff I just write about music. Hope this tip helps! Death2 01:56, 15 July 2006 (UTC) Death2 01:56, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] roybean
Hi!
I put the pictures robean.jpg on wiki-commons. I put the same license that you put. If you have any problems please contact-me on fr-wiki: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discussion_Utilisateur:Bestter
I'm creating the roy bean article in french: fr:Roy Bean
thank you very much Bestter Bestter
- Sure! And thank you - I should've uploaded it to the commons myself, actually. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 21:57, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Axiom of quasi-determinacy
Good day, Mr Schneelocke. We are going through the Wikipedia:Articles requested for more than a year as part of an ongoing collaboration. You created a link to the above item, "Axiom of quasi-determinacy" in the article Axiom of determinacy. I would like to plug this hole by writing an article on the topic, but I've been unable to find any leads. Would you be able to point me at a reference for this topic? Ordinary Person 06:36, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- Goodness, good question. I vaguely recall it was in some paper I read, but buggered if I recall which one... -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 10:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for your help
Thank you for your help on the Single-grain experiment article. It was DYK on October 12. I really appreciated it. Chris 01:58, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- "DYK"? In any case, you're welcome. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 09:00, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fe-TableImage
Hi, Mr Schneelocke - you are credited for this image:
I'd like to get a higher res copy, in particular the cube device. Also, the Iron article doesn't really explain that. Please email me at weighn at google's email server , ie gmail.com :) -- thanks!
- Hi there, the base image for these images can be found at Image:-TableImage.svg; the crystal structure images are in the Crystal structure article. I don't think I made a higher-resolution version of Image:Fe-TableImage.png, but it should be trivial to recreate. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 10:14, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Arsenic TableImage
I do believe you are the creator of the element TableImages. If so, there is a mistake on the Arsenic one. Here is the image:
As you can see, the Proton count and the Neutron counts are missing. Sorry, I'm not very good at Photoshop, or anything like that. The protons count should be 33 and the neutron count should be 42.Joh777nny 03:41, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, good catch - I fixed that. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 10:01, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Tria1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Tria1.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok ☠ 21:41, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
- This is actually a promotional image from a press kit, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is - it's true that it's not freely licensed, but it's not an image where fair use is asserted even though the copyright owner would probably not like to see it used, either, so I think that this image should be acceptable. That being said, feel free to look for a free replacement; however, I should say that I've done so in the past, too, and didn't find anything (there's a few pictures of Triakel on Flickr, of course, but they're neither suitable as illustrations nor available under a CC license. -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 23:22, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Section copyvios
On the copyright problems page, you asked if there was an alternative to the {{copyvio}} tag that applies to sections only. There isn't a tag, but in the future feel free to just blank the section and explain why in the edit summary or on the talk page. Thanks for the good work spotting the copying. --RobthTalk 05:34, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- OK, thanks - I'll do that, then. :) -- Schnee (cheeks clone) 09:34, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
