[edit] British vs American Spelling

I find this totally confusing, and it took me a pretty long time to track down the right information about the preference of this, and it seems pretty vague. "Go with whatever area it relates to", what kind of a motto is that? And it's downright annoying when articles have both american and english words/spelling. It's the only thing I can think of that occasionally makes Wikipedia unreadable, and it should totally be fixed. Majority rules, and more people speak American English than British. And it's clear to see British Vigilante (Britgilante?) raids on certain articles. It's a nauseating, disgusting Casus belli for... some kinda war! It could easily be fixed by cookies, too, and automatically marking certain words to be replaced according to preference. --Scharb 03:44, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] People Descriptions

If a celebrity is, say, Jewish, it's extremely difficult to find that in his/her article. The introductory description of a person only lists their nationality, and their "background life" section often only contains that they're "of Jewish Heritage" or "has Jewish grandparents". Unclear. Why not just say "Is Jewish" or "Is a practicing Jew" or "considers him/herself Jewish"? Especially in the title line? --Scharb 04:16, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
