[edit] Translation of the name
If a translation is really appropriate, it should probably be "Lake Schwerin". The lake is named after the city of Schwerin and the literal translation would be "Schwerin's lake". So if there is no good reference for "Lake Schweriner" the article should be moved. --146.107.43.107 (talk) 10:45, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was no consensus to move the page from "Schweriner See" to "Lake Schweriner", per the discussion below. At the time of the proposal, no rationale was given here. Dekimasuよ! 14:43, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- oppose: no evidence for usage in English-language literature presented yet. Yaan (talk) 11:38, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- oppose agreeing with Yaan. We should avoid machine translations. -- User:Docu
- oppose I did not propose that the article should be moved from Schweriner See to Lake Schwerin. I merely suggested that Lake Schwerin would be a better translation than Lake Schweriner. Please read more carefully. Btw. I'm a German native speaker and the same person as the ip above. --82.135.92.231 (talk) 18:35, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
