Could someone who knows please rephrase the following sentence? I can't make head or tail of it at present!

The difference between the Schwabacher and other blackletter scripts is that in 
the small-letter o, both sides of the bow are broken, but the right part is not.

A jewish friend of mine's last name is Schwabacher. Should its use as a last name be mentioned? I don't know how common it is Canking 22:41, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
